Welcome to PDFData ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our web-based platform that allows you to extract data from PDF files (“Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By registering, you confirm that:
  • All information you provide is accurate and complete.
  • You will maintain the accuracy of this information.
  • You are legally permitted to use the Services.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for all activities that occur under your account.

2. Email Verification

All users must verify their email address after registration. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that remain unverified.

3. Service Overview

Our platform allows users to:
  • Upload PDF files
  • Extract structured or unstructured data from those files.
  • Use a balance-based system to pay for processing.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Services at any time without notice or liability.

4. Data Extraction Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate data extraction results, you acknowledge and agree that:
  • The accuracy of data extraction depends on the quality and structure of the uploaded PDF file.
  • For best results, PDF files must contain selectable, text-based content. Files that are scanned images, low-quality, distorted, encrypted, or improperly formatted may result in incomplete, incorrect, or failed data extraction.
  • We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy or completeness of the extracted data and shall not be liable for any errors, omissions, or losses resulting from the extraction process.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that uploaded files meet these quality criteria.

5. Payment and Balance System

  • Payments are securely processed through Stripe.
  • You can top up your account balance using supported payment methods.
  • Balance can be used only within the platform to process PDF files.
  • All top-ups are final and non-refundable, except where required by law.
  • We reserve the right to adjust pricing or fees at any time.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, design, and software on the platform (except for user-uploaded content) are the property of PDFData or its licensors. Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without express written permission.

7. User Content & Data

By uploading files, you represent and warrant that:
  • You have all necessary rights to use and upload the content
  • The files do not infringe on any intellectual property rights or laws.
  • You grant us a limited, temporary license to use the files solely for processing and delivering results to you.
All uploaded files and extracted data are processed automatically and uploaded files will be deleted after processing. We do not use, store, or share your content beyond providing the Service.

8. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:
  • Use the Services for unlawful purposes.
  • Upload malicious files, including those containing viruses or malware.
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, or attempt to extract the platform’s code.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.

9. Modifications and Interruptions

We may update or modify the Service at any time. We are not liable for any interruption, delay, or loss resulting from such changes. While we aim to provide continuous availability, uptime is not guaranteed.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFData and its affiliates shall not be liable for any:
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits.
  • Damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PDFData, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses resulting from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Pennsylvania.

13. Electronic Communications

By using our Services, you agree to receive electronic communications from us, such as emails related to your account or updates to these Terms. These electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, including if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or act in a manner that harms our platform or users.
